I found that avoiding the moronic typing of nonsense that most programs offer was the best thing for me, i.e. I took the project on, and spent 1 hour each day typing out these awesome quotes that turned into great practice for me, and an accomplishment for the publishing company at the same time. She gave me a stack of famous quotations that she had compiled over the years that were only available as a hard copy. I had all the basics down, and just needed some practice so I approached a friend who was head of a small publishing company, and asked if there was anything I could take on for typing practice. It was supposed to be a 3 month course, but I stopped at 1 month.

My typing speed is around 40wpm and can write 10 to 15 articles of 500 words per day.īack in 1990, I was a two finger typist, and started finding it a problem in that I was a writer and editor. The more I struggle to use all fingers, the most I become slower. I tried so many times to improve it but my reflexes is not allowing it anymore. I type fast but uses only 3 fingers each. Thanks ahead of time, and good luck in all your 2011 IM efforts. Mavis Beacon is a name I hear often, has anyone got any input? Have any of you out there found one course or system better than another? If I could speed up my typing / boarding, I could improve the speed, quality and quantity of the content I can make available for my clients, which means lower prices for the same great quality, while freeing up more time for my own IMing. I am currently looking for courses, eBooks, dvds or anything that will get me typing like a normal person, using all the digits God gave me. I work IM full time and make a decent living at it, but I am a very old school guy (47 years old) that grew up without having a desire or need to keyboard / type, so I still use the old two finger approach. I write between 8 and 10 articles a day for clients, and then work on my own IM efforts.
